The Chin Edit looks fairly simple from a BS steps point of view, just looks like a hefty dose of stamina is required. I am more worried about Aaron's other edits, I think Ecstacy and Insertion.

yeh it does look simple for a bs chart (that is, if you can step to 16th trills at 170bpm on foot, and have the stamina) but what make it impressive is that he did it no-bar.

on a semi-related note, if you ARE going to make bs steps, atleast make them semi hard / challenging (but not impossible (i.e. my hvam or afro edits.. lol ))

I've got a determinator kb edit that I made.

It's not that much harder than the normal version, but the non-bs-run bit is a bit more energetic and jumpy.


My Daikenkai edit is absolutely awesome though, I reckon. They should've made the oni steps a 10 footer and following the vocals all along (like my file ^_^).

Then in the bit where it speeds up, you'll find 8th streams with a moderate amount of jumps in the middle.

Additionally, at the end of my Daikenkai, there's a tricky, non-standard but completely crossoverable LDRLUR type of pattern (8th notes because I'm sane).

I reckon it's less tricky than PSMO.

Ancient chinese spread technique........ finger hop! Just move your right index finger to the down arrow.

(NB, I play using the number keys at the top of the keyboard, 2345, or CVBN on my other keyboard)

For the beginning, with the L/D trill followed by U/R trill, I used both index fingers on L/D, then moved them over 2 spots to U/R and did the 2nd trill.

It works for me I guess.

Ive edited a good song with shit steps to a good song with good steps...i think i got the timing perfect so it shouldnt be off sync..it has heaps of jumps and some good twists and crossovers....you guys really gotta try it

okie, i made a new edit, Sync hvy and oni.
i started making the oni steps, and realized it was too hard for foot, so i copied what i had to hvy, and toned it down a bit and finished it off and it looked good. then i went back and continued with oni.

I also tried out everyone elses files, here's my opinion.

Freakys Love Shine: Very interesting. at 1st i just thought it was a really hard song on foot, then saw the 16th runs and knew it wasnt. reminded me of M300SMMM for a second or too.

Boses R3: it was slightly off, but that was because i had a diff MP3, and it was pretty good, there were a few steps i didnt understand, but overall it was good for a 2nd simfile. i couldnt try you wildrush because i dont have the mp3 for it, sorry =(

Daikenkai, Very interesting patterns and well thought out. my mp3 was a few seconds early, so the steps were late, but it was interesting none the less. i had no idea what was going on with that huge gap, but i guess its better then random steps.
Determinator, very hard middle part. but quite fun. im not to sure if this would be passable on foot though =S

Sakura, very nicly put together, took a few goes to hear what the steps were going to, but it was just fun even if they didnt go to anything.
Long Train Runin' Very interesting steps, really looking forward to trying this on foot.

This is a 14 block song and is meant for pad, and it would awesome to watch one of our ITG2 players to attempt this on foot.

you need a dex-drive

then some programs to open the ps mem card img file, and then something to convert from dwi/sm to the right format.

and then after that, you need to make sure the dwi/sm you convert from starts on the right bar.

my edits are fun, i have a be lovin one, working on a new LoM and MaxX edit. along with RnP

Just to let everyone know i made a big bunch of stamina edits that are practically nothing but 16th stream and jumps. The easiest one starts at 125 BPM (Graduation) and builds up to 200 BPM (Orion civilization). I have "fun" edits but not that many. I'll upload some when i can =]

This is a simfile I'm currently working on.  If anybody has some spare time, I would appreciate any feedback I can get.  Note that I'm not entirely happy with how it is at the moment, and it will definitely have changed by the time it's finished.

It has some rolls in it, so if you have a version of SM that doesn't support them, just find and replace all the 4s in the file with 2s and it should replace them all with freezes.

It's pretty good. I especially like how you implemented the rolls. My only suggestion would be to shove in some jumps when the singers scream some incomprehensible words around the 610-630 combo mark, because the straight 8th note stream is pretty boring there at the moment.

Yeah, I was thinking about that.  For anyone who has tried both versions, I'm thinking of changing a lot of it back to how it was in the first (v0.1).  Apart from a few minor things that needed to be fixed, on the whole I think I've made it worse rather than better.

played DDR/ITG in Burwood,Parramatta,Darling Harbour,Timezone Sydney (Old and New) and both Galaxy World in the inner cbd area
dont care bout getting get good scores on DDR/ITG as long as i can pass the song its fine
2 me DDR is fun no matter how good you are at it

edit: actually I think you can, but they won't show up. You have to change something in the .sm manually. But there isn't really any point, since you won't see them in game play, and if you miss them your sm will crash. I'm sure we've all experienced this when playing itg sims with rolls on 3.9. If you edit them in right though, you'd be able to play them on itg, I think.

You'd be safer to use 3.95 though.

But you don't like 3.95? Why not just convert to that. It's pretty much the same as 3.9. You could just copy your profile over and everything.

To add your songs without having multiple song folders for different sm versions:
Just go into Data/stepmania.ini and put:

AdditionalSongFolders=Wherever your songs are

for example:
AdditionalSongFolders=c:\program files\stepmania cvs\songs

iirc, it was made between itg 1 and 2.

3.95 is pretty much 3.9 with support for rolls.
